Busy Standing Still

Once again I left you lovely blog people assuming I had abandoned you and my blog. That's not the case, though. I've just been in a real funk lately. Even now, I don't really have a desire to blog, but I suddenly realised it's been nearly 4 weeks since I blogged and I felt I owed you an explanation.

I've been in real turmoil in my mind lately. Nothing of any great importance has happened (or at least nothing I feel comfortable talking about), but I just feel completely out of sorts. I know I'll work through it in time, but it's left me feeling very lackadaisical about blogging, sadly.

I'll try to be better and, in that frame, I'll be participating (or at least attempting to participate in) the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge 2011. It seems like it'll be a lot of fun and very challenging, so if you're interested in participating you've still got a couple of days to get signed up!

So, you're probably interested in how our Vegas trip went, right? Well, it was AWESOME!!! We had a fantastic time! The highlights? We did some shopping on the Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood. The Hubs bought me a beautiful charm bracelet from the Swarovski Crystal store. It is beautiful and I will (at some point) take a photo and post for you. The Hubs' boss took us out for an $800 meal (which he paid for) and paid for a limosine everywhere we travelled when we were with him. The Hubs' and I saw two Cirque du Soleil shows (one with our friend/Hub's co-worker, J) - KA and O, both excellent shows and definitely recommended if you get an opportunity to see them! We did a little drinking (since we're not allowed to do any fertility treatment right now, I figured what the heck!) and a little gambling but didn't get too crazy. All in all, it was a wonderful trip.

I'll try to post some more photos for you later.

The only other news I really have to share is about our latest visit with the RE. After having seen him for nearly a year with no treatment, our lastest news is that exercise and diet alone are not going to work with helping me to lose weight and that my only options are Adapex (Phenteremine) or gastric bypass surgery. He's pushing for gastric bypass; I'm trying Adapex. So far, so good - I've lost about 11 pounds in 2 weeks, so I think that's pretty decent. For the foreseeable future, we won't be doing any treatment. I think we're probably going to try another RE, but I am going to spend a little time working on weight loss and also living life a little. I've been feeling very old lately - much older than I actually am (that's part of the headf**k I have going on right now) and there are some other things I need to try to regain for myself. I figured I would use this time of trying to get my weight down to work on some of those things as well. We just aren't currently in a position to pursue adoption and our RE isn't going to budge on treatment, so for now we'll sit back and wait. It crushes me, but I don't know what else to do.

Anyway, I'll not whine anymore right now. Instead, I'll leave you with a cheery good evening and I'll be back soon with more interesting pursuits!

So glad you had a great time in Vegas! Next time your headed this way hopefully I won't have a jammed packed schedule and I can come down and meet you!

Phentermine has really helped me. I did two months on and two months (ok so now 3) months off. I'm down almost 30 or so I think... But I don't own a scale. Down 11 in two weeks sounds awesome! Nice work!

Good luck pulling out of your funk. I know it can be hard. Thinking of you!

We need to chat girl. I am sorry things are so rough for you right now. The A to Z challenge sounds like fun. I think I may try it.

I've been in a blogging funk too - but I'm glad to see this post and know that I've been thinking about you.

Way to go with the weightloss! I haven't heard of Adapex here -- not sure if it's available in Canada. I'm still plugging away at my own weight loss stuff -- so if you ever need a buddy....

Hope the A to Z challenge brings back some blogging inspiration!

Thanks for sharing some details about your trip - I was eager to hear all about it! :)

Glad you had an awesome time in Vegas! That town can be so much fun.

I've had Adapex before I think and it worked.

Ugh! I hate that waiting time. The weight or age argument. I had it with them a couple of days ago.
